We are always up to something!

We hold regular Steering Committee Meetings at BWA HQ (i.e. somewhere in north-west England), where we do most of our plotting and planning.

We also hold Regional Network Meetings where fieldworkers, academics, students and local government archaeologists get together to find out what the BWA is all about. RNMs follow the format of a presentation by us on the role of women in the profession and BWA's aims, followed by questions/debate and informal discussion over drinks. RNMs are our response to the frequent comment that women often feel disconnected from other women in the profession at large. We particularly value these events as they help to keep us connected with what you're thinking.

Past RNMs have been in Sheffield, Liverpool and Cambridge.

Get involved!
If you're interested in hosting a RNM please contact us by e-mail and ask us how.

BWA want to keep up a good presence at national conferences to help boost membership: IfA for the fieldworkers and TAG for the academics. We are also involved with the European Association of Archaeologists (EAA) Working Party on Gender.

If you would like to get more involved with BWA please get in touch. There's plenty to do!
